EMS Professions students are admitted for advance coursework every fall semester. If there are more applicants who meet the admission criteria than space will allow, applicants will be ranked for placement in the class. Ranking for placement will be based on a point system for:
Additional Immunization Information Tetanus, Diptheria, and Pertussis (TDaP): Must be within the past 10 years. Hepatitis B: The Hepatitis B series must be completed. This series consists of three shots and takes 2 to 6 months to complete. Positive serologic study for Hepatitis B (titer) antibodies will suffice. Varicella (Chicken pox): Two doses are required for adults without history of illness - or a laboratory report of immune serum antibody titer. Program Progression and Course Grading Progression from one semester to the following semester(s) requires successful completion of all EMSP and clinical course requirements. To successfully complete an EMSP semester and to be eligible to receive a course completion certificate, students must achieve a passing score of 70% in each course and on each final course exam. Students who do not score a 70% or better on a final course exam will be given the opportunity for one retest if their course grade is passing. The retest will not affect the course grade. Students must score 70% or better on the retest to continue in the program. Withdrawal from or failure of any EMSP course in the program will prevent
the student from continuing into the next semester of the EMSP Program.
The student will need to resubmit an application portfolio at another
date.
